Observation

Upon being notified a child had been left unattended on the bus, the provider first ensured the child was okay. Then they notified the parent and reported the incident to licensing.The provider acknolwedged the protocol for accounting for children was not followed. In response to the incident, they have implemented a new system where there are two staff members in the bus area. One staff member will be outside of the bus and responsible for accounting for all the children. During that time, the bus driver will clear the vehicle to ensure all children have exited before locking the bus.
